17th December 2018 | sabelacastro The children in Team R had a very busy week. They loved reading ‘Babushka’, a traditional Russian tale that explains the Christmas story from Babushka´s (old woman) point of view. They also had fun at locating Russia in the world map as well as they liked learning about the differences and similarities between winter in UK and Russia. The children had a go at drawing pictures to sequence the events in the story. Most of them felt really brave and had a go at writing a sentence to describe what happened. In maths this week we have been learning about 2D shapes. Team Reception enjoyed making shapes out of different materials. We learned vocabulary that helps us to describe the shapes properties as well as we compared 2D shapes with 3D shapes. Now we know all 2D shapes are also called flat shapes! On Friday it was Christmas Jumper Day and all the children enjoyed wearing their own clothes and Christmas jumpers! They were also really kind and donated £1 to ‘Save the Children’. Moreover, we had Christmas dinner and the children in Team R enjoyed having a special Christmas lunch with Miss Castro, Mrs Grant and Mrs V!! What a great week we´ve had!
