1st July 2020 | Kate Healy What are Team 6 grateful for? It is important to be grateful so we never take things for granted. Being grateful helps us to see all of the wonderful things we have in our lives and helps us to be happy. It also helps us to have optimism and keep a positive attitude. Being grateful can also make us feel better about ourselves and improve self-esteem. Try this well-being challenge this week: make GRATITUDE paper chains! By making a paper chain of gratitude, you will have the opportunity to either be creative together as a family or to choose to take a peaceful moment to reflect, independently. You can decorate each link with paints or colourful pens, while writing the things you are grateful for. As a family, you could even add a new link each day and then watch as the paper chain grows and see how much you have to be thankful for. What you will need Paper Scissors Pens/pencils/paints Glue stick How to make a paper chain Cut the paper into strips. Decorate each strip. Write one thing on each strip that you are grateful for. Use the glue stick to glue the ends of each strip together, to create a ‘link’ of paper. Display the paper chain somewhere you can see it and use it as a reminder of all the things you have to be grateful for. Gratefulness is proven to increase happiness and well-being. It is a fabulous habit for Team 6 to get into and really helps to be more positive!
