4th December 2020 | N Burris We have had another great week in Team Reception, this week we have begun celebrating Christmas. We have been busy practicing singing our songs in preparation for the festive video. The children have quickly learnt some actions and the lines which I am sure you will be hearing at home for a while! We have been writing sentences focused on the story ‘The Christmas Promise’, the children are making fantastic progress with their writing. We have learnt the story, through drawing a story map and exploring the key language. We have written lists of what we would like for Christmas and posted them in our letter box. In our maths learning, we have been subitising numbers up to 5. In our outdoor area we have been using big dice and Numicon to practice our subitising skills. We have continued to make lots of fabulous artwork, we have made wrapping paper (there has been an amazing glitter explosion across the carpet), the children have made pictures of themselves as elves and snowmen. We have explored ice, using different methods to melt it including salt. There was even a whole tray full of snow for all the children to explore. We have all really enjoyed getting in the festive mood and the children have had done lots of fantastic learning!
