We have had a lovely first week back after the half term and the children have enjoyed the first week of our new topic ‘By the Sea’. We have been role-playing in a beach cafe and lighthouse. We have been writing postcards, going fishing for number bonds to 10 and lots more!

In English, we have started reading our story ‘The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch’. The children have really enjoyed thinking of plans to stop the pesky seagulls from stealing Mr Grinlings lunch. We have also thought about what we would like to have in our own lunchboxes. The children have enjoyed reading this and will continue to retell the story in their own words next week.

In maths we have been learning all about doubling. We have been learning to double with Daisy the Doubling Dolphin! She has helped us learn lots of doubling facts. We have also played snap to find doubles and played doubles games with our friends.

In PE we practised a running race and the children really enjoyed running as well as cheering their friends on during the races!

We are looking forward to another fun-filled week of learning next week.

Have a lovely weekend!
