We have had another fantastic week of learning in Team Reception and it has been wonderful to see how ready the children are for Team 1.

We have been doing lots of discussions about moving up to a new class and the children have shown such excitement and enthusiasm to meet their new teacher and be in their new class. As this week comes to an end we will be moving on to our final topic of the year which is ‘Moving Up’. There will be lots more opportunities for the children to discuss with the adults and their friends how they are feeling about moving to a new class.

In Maths we have been learning about money this week. We have also had an ice cream shop in our outdoor area where the children have been able to apply the knowledge they have learnt about money into their independent learning.

In English we have continued to retell our story of ‘Sally and the Limpet’ the children have been really engaged and enjoyed writing their own versions of the story where Sally gets different sea creatures stuck on her finger including a starfish!

In Wider Curriculum we have been discussing animals that live in the city and comparing them to animals that live at the beach. We have been enjoying learning all about why certain animals live in specific environments and what those environments provide for the animals.  We discussed how we can look after the environment and take care of our Planet.

I hope you have a lovely weekend!
